Síológa-a new beginning…

June 2023

What a busy month of June we have had!  We kicked started the month with our school tour where we enjoyed orienteering, a nature walk, an obstacle course and our favourite, the mud slide!  We were busy practicing in our teams for Sports Day which we thoroughly enjoyed followed by our annual barbecue provided so generously to us by the Parents Association.   The highlight of the month, however, was the ice-cream van visit during the last week!

April 2023

It was wonderful to see the children returning after the Easter break. They are busy in ‘The Garden
Centre’ in Aistear this month and planted sunflower seeds to look after at home. We are really
looking forward to seeing how tall they grow! They are enjoying orienteering in PE, especially with
the fine weather we are having. The children will begin tennis on Fridays this month which is a sure
sign that summer is on the way!

December 2022

We began our December Aistear journey in Santa’s Workshop. Busy making and wrapping presents,
we got ready for the festive season ahead! We sang lots of Christmas songs and prepared for the
Christmas Carol Service in St Multose Church. We loved having hot chocolate in downtown Kinsale!
We made wooden centre pieces for the Christmas table, Christmas wreaths and Santa door hangers.
We are so grateful to the PA for our pizza party on the last day which we are still talking about!

October 2022

We had a great time in October. We looked forward to our swimming lessons in the Kinsale Hotel
every Tuesday. Ms Hadden organised some lovely activities for us for Maths Week which ran from
15-23 October. In the lead up to Hallowe’en, we made witches potions and on the day before mid-
term we dressed up for Hallowe’en and joined in a spooky disco in Ms Nestor’s room!

September 2022

We have had a busy month this September. We were really excited to begin swimming lessons in
the Kinsale Hotel and look forward to our session every Tuesday. We had a great time with Ulick
from Sprocket Rocket developing our cycling skills. We are so proud of what we achieved! We have
been enjoying our Aistear time, re-enacting the Three Little Pigs and learning about different homes
from around the world. There has been lots of discussion and art work about our own homes and
we even enjoyed a ‘Family Board Night’ with popcorn!
