​We have entered the Blue Star Programme again this year.  The idea of the Blue Star Programme is to foster better understanding and knowledge of the European Union and how it affects the lives of Irish citizens among primary pupils through classroom projects and activities.  The children in the Junior Room are going to learn a song in French in January.  The children in Ms Hadden’s class have been learning a Christmas carol in French and Ms Hadden is planning on teaching French to the children over a block of 10 weeks in January.  Ms Roberts visited Brussels last year and she will teach the Senior Room about the work of the European Parliament and the European Commission next term.  We are also hoping to have a visit from Billy Kelleher MEP to talk about his work in Europe.  The Senior Room have also enjoyed learning about the Renaissance and French Impressionism with Mrs Buttimer.
